So, now that people other than myself are reading this, I suppose I should introduce some of the stuff that's going up.

The Crow Road - I'm not yet sure exactly what this is. I'm anchoring it with three parts of an rp that I did for quiet_thinker, and starting it with a bit of something I had going about gated communities and fear. Eventually, there was going to be a revolution. I think my original note says something about people living in communities get used to being there and believe that their view of the world is the only one.

Now it's become a much more standard sci-fi piece, dealing with mutants and politics. Mainly the politics. The mutation stuff is only marginal to the main plot. And there will still eventually be a revolution.

Inspirations: X-men (comics); This Perfect Day, Ira Levin; Spares and Only Forward, Michael Marshall Smith.

The Dead Letters - I am deathly pathetic. This is another story started by getting too far into the head of an rp character. This is loyaulte_me_lie's story, though now that I read Layercake and Mysterious Skin, it might turn into something a lot more like truththatlies, which is a later iteration of the same character. The character is an Irish junkie whore, and the basic idea is that the war in Heaven between demons and angels is still going on. Aidan is going to get involved in it.

This is a slightly different take on the sci-fi stuff, I think. I'm using angels, demons, and hunters as my supernatural characters, and they're interacting on earth. This one is a lot slower (due to less confidence about the world) to write. This story is HEAVILY influenced by Gaiman.

Inspirations: Good Omens, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman; Neverwhere and American Gods, Neil Gaiman; Layercake, JJ Connolly; Mysterious Skin, Scott somebody.

Thieves In The Temple - This is my post-theocratic state story. What happens to America when the religious right wins, and how does that interact with those pesky little problems like environmental collapse? I haven't got an anchor for this one, so it's going slowly. I think it'll be a good idea to at least try to figure out where it's supposed to go and get it there before I start posting it.

Inspirations: The Crow Road, Iain Banks; The Bible, God.

That's the long form stuff. Everything else should be self explanatory.

All titles are working. All of Swords At Dawn that will be posted here is posted, though it is listed as a multi-chapter work. All character names are subject to change in the final edit. All organisation names, the same. There are random bits and bobs of stuff that I need to change in the posted chapters. Stuff is tagged, and I might even get around to adding things to memories. I've tried to use the same set of tags for each chapter of a multi-chapter (or multi post) piece. Out of sequence chapters are correct.

And finally, a request. I tend to write faster than I think, or think faster than I write, or something. So if you run across something that doesn't make sense (ie, a pronoun got left out when it really should have gotten put in, that sort of thing) please let me know. That can be difficult to catch in editing.
